Belles to Benefit from National Championship Print!

Our own Charter Member Bengal Beau, Jack Jaubert, has been tapped by LSU to do the "Official 2003 National Championship Commemorative Print."  When given the news by LSU's business office, one of the first things Jack thought of was the Bengal Belles. Jack was one of the founding members of the Belles and the Belles always have a special place in his heart. He has decided to donate to the TAF, on behalf of the Belles, a substantial portion of his share of the proceeds from any Fan Edition prints sold to Belles.  This donation is specifically intended to assist the Belles in meeting their annual pledge to financially
support the Academic Center.  The commemorative edition does not benefit the Belles, so please be sure to order the Fan Edition if your intent is to help the Belles.  Enter the word "Belle" in the Special code section of the order form on his website www.JackJaubert.com. He will also personalize a print to you if you enter the message you desire.  Jack takes great pleasure in helping the Belles support our student athletes.

Bengal Belles Present Scrapbook
of 2003 Season to Terry Saban

Bengal Belles present Terry Saban her scrapbook.

The Bengal Belles have been busy making memories of the fantastic football season. The Belles presented Terry Saban, wife of LSU football coach, Nick Saban with a scrapbook of the 2003-2004 National Championship season. Last year the scrapbook was made to help Terry remember several of the games she missed, but this year Terry didn’t miss any of the 14 games this year. The scrapbook includes all 14 games and snapshots of the football season.
The Belles were also instrumental in having scrapbooks made for the 22 senior football players to help them remember the fantastic season. The scrapbooks were made by Dr. Susan Bankston and Sherry Chenevert of Scrapbook Hardware with pictures provided by Mark Rayner and Dr. Phillip Cancilleri.

A Note from Terry Saban...

Dear Friends,
Nick and I would like to express our sincere thanks for the beautiful “work of art” scrapbook for this past 2003 National Championship season! It is simply the perfect gift... to be able to capture the spirit of every game this season is a thrill every time we look at it. But the way it’s put together is so creative! We were able to share it with recruits and their families and look over their shoulders as they turned the pages and we remembered the excitement, the action, and the emotions! Thank you for all you do! As the daffodils pop their heads out of the ground, one can only be reminded of one thing...Spring Ball!

Sincerely yours, Terry and Nick

Belles Donate National Championship Flags

Bengal Belles donated the National Championship flag that was raised in Tiger Stadium at the salute to the champions, Saturday, January 24th. The Belles have also commissioned the 1958 National Championship flag to be remade so that two new flags will fly over Tiger Stadium next football season.

Candi Fisher’s "Geaux Tigers" Thank You for Babysitting during the home games.

To Bengal Belles!
Thanks for contributing so generously to our babysitting room. It was a huge success, and your contribution made it affordable for many of our wives to participate. Thanks again for this and all that you do throughout the year to make our program so successful!

Bengal Belles Honor Volunteers at Luncheon February 17th

More than 80 Bengal Belle volunteers were honored at a February 17 luncheon at Boudreaux’s for their many fund-raising endeavors to support the Cox Communications’ Academic Center for Student Athletes as well as their continued support of LSU Tiger Sports.

Prior to the meeting, volunteers had their picture made with the National Championship Football Foundation’s MacArthur Bowl Trophy and the Nokia Sugar Bowl Trophy on loan from the Athletic Department by Dr. Phillip Cancilleri, a Bengal Beau.

Aimée Simon, Bengal Belles president, opened the luncheon by reminding everyone about the fantastic championship season and the contributions that the Belles made to an awesome football group.  During the salad course, the volunteers enjoyed playing Tiger-Bingo for door prizes and were treated to the LSU Football recruiting video reserved for prospective tiger football players.  At the conclusion of  lunch, Aimée introduced Athletic Director, Skip Bertman, who praised the Belles for all the work they have done for the past eight years supporting Tiger Athletics.  Skip then introduced Jenni Peters, Marketing Director for Olympic Sports, which were recipients of a $15,000 donation from the Belles this year.
Jack Jaubert and Suzanne Burke unveiled the official commemorative painting representing the LSU victory in the Sugar Bowl and the season.  Jack had to have help unrolling the canvas, as he had just finished the painting hours earlier.  The luncheon concluded with the highlight video of the 2003 LSU Football season.  The music and videos were coordinated by Bob Blanchard.
Sylvia Duke, Sharon Pol, Janice Guitreau and Simon coordinated the luncheon with Julie Levert and her committee assisting with decorations.  Everyone received a set of miniature LSU football helmet ornaments from the Bengal Belles board.
